colorado_springs_home_showsIt seems like every couple of years we see new trends emerge in home remodeling, kitchen design and landscaping products.  But how does a homeowner find out about the latest innovations for the home?  Sure, there are plenty of “shelter” magazines and DIY web sites, but it’s hard to see everything all in one place unless you visit a home show.  Over the past 25 years, home shows have gone from an annual event in big city convention centers to several informal suburban shows.

What are the advantages of visiting a home show?  My favorite reason to walk the aisles of a home show is to get a full picture of all my options for a project and a first-hand look at the materials. I try to visit the show early in the day so I can spend time learning more from certain vendors.

The Colorado Springs home shows are a real time-saver for homeowners who simply don’t have the time to drive from showroom to showroom.  Here, you can speak with a marble installer, landscape architect, kitchen designer and siding contractor all in a few hours.  If you’re unsure of the price for a given project, you can get a ballpark estimate and a few brochures from several different vendors, and then request a formal estimate after the show.

Here is a summary of upcoming home shows near Colorado Springs, CO:

Home Building and Remodeling Show – January 4-6, 2013

The longest running home show in Colorado Springs, this show has been held in the same location for 17 years – the Norris-Penrose Event Center.  If you’re thinking about a remodeling project, this is your chance to meet the best contractors in Colorado Springs face-to-face.

At the Colorado Springs Home Building and Remodeling Show you will be introduced to the latest offerings in home building and several innovative displays from exhibitors who know offer everything for the home.  This is your chance to ask questions and gain expert advice on home building, basement refinishing, kitchen and bath remodeling, additions, sunrooms, and more.  Experienced professionals offer the latest product innovations in everything from home heating and air-conditioning, home security systems, decking, interior decorating and more.

Colorado Springs Home & Landscape Expo – February 22-24, 2013

Another event that is held in the Norris-Penrose Event Center, the Home and Landscape Show brings home remodeling and landscaping professionals together under one roof.  These vendors are there to share their valuable knowledge and help bring your ideas to life.  Experts showcase the latest innovations in kitchen cabinetry, flooring, waterproofing, smart home automation, exterior landscaping products and energy efficient windows.

In the middle of winter, visitors enjoy an annual precursor to spring – welcoming gardens built right inside the exhibit hall.  Upon entering the show, ticketholders enjoy the latest design trends and get on the path toward creating their dream home.  And as an added bonus, parking is free!

Colorado Garden & Home Show – February 9-17, 2013

An annual event at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver is the Colorado Garden & Home Show. This prestigious home and garden event is a nine days long and it is the region’s oldest show of its kind.  Representatives are available from more than 600 different companies around the country, and they are there to help visitors move their home and garden projects forward.  In addition to strolling through more than an acre of professionally manicured gardens, visitors can attend 50 free educational seminars or demonstrations of the latest home and gardening ideas.

Every year at the Colorado Home and Garden Show, nine exhibitors are chosen for the 9NEWS Hot Products Zone because of their design innovation, cutting-edge thinking or energy efficiency.   There is also a juried Flower Show.
